Robert Walters Team of the Week (Feb 27)

Announcements - February 27th 2022

The first round of the Footy Japan ESR cup has finally been played. Most of the match results were very predictable with the higher division team consistantly winning their games.
Kanto Celts (d2) beat Guts (d3) 7-1, YeBoiz (d2) beat Saitama Jets (d3) 4-1, Dutch (d2) beat BFC Vagabonds (d3) 6-0, Suns (d2) beat Real Celts (d3) 9-0, Lions (d1) beat King George (d3) 10-2, Eastern Capital (d1) beat Sagarmatha (d3) 5-0.
Amongst these collosal wins, there were some close games between some fixtures. For example, Nepal (d1) won against Albion Old Boys (d3) 2-1, Hibernian FC (d1) beat Guapo (d3) 3-2, Panthers (d1) beat Brunello (d2) 2-0. A heroic fight put up by the lower ranked team.
The biggest fixture played that weekend was definitely British Embassy vs Zion. Interestingly, BEFC won the cup last season, Zion won it the season before. This was certainly a clash of the heavy weights, both teams know what it takes to win the cup. BEFC got the best of Zion for this match up. The final score was 3-1 with James Pounder, Keita Suzuki, Yuta Kawakami scoring a goal each, all of them BEFC veterans!
BEFC will continue onwards to the Footy Japan ESR Cup and hope to win their first back to back title!

Congratulations to BEFC for winning the Robert Walters team of the week!
