Robert Walters Team of the Week (Nov 27)

Announcements - November 28th 2022

This weekend saw the debut of the Kemigawa pitch down at Chiba. A venue run by Tokyo University, it hosts several natural grass pitches. The teams found out that the grass was slightly long, perhaps providing a disadvantage to teams that like to play short passes.

The Robert Walters Team of the Week goes to Shane FC after winning against BEFC Lions.
With an unfortunate dropout, Shane were left with 10 men to play against BEFC Lions with a full squad. A worrisome start to a very important game. Both teams were tied for last place, sitting at 2 points each.
BEFC Lions pounced onto their prey but a solid defensive line by Shane FC repelled all their attacks. And with a quick counter attack led by Katsuya Nakata, Shane FC suprised everyone with the opening goal. It was still early in the game so BEFC Lions were not worried, but as the minutes went on, the situation only worsened. Shane scored another goal making it 2-0 leaving BEFC Lions no choice but to start commiting more numbers into their attack. This left a lot of space on the sides allowing Katsuya to penetrate through the flanks on each counter attack. He was very effective at doing so, often carrying the ball all the way to the top of the 18 and creating a scoring threat. BEFC Lions were unlucky in quite a few of their attacks, rattling he post and not slotting away some definite chances.

When the dust settled, the score was 4-1 to Shane, with a hat trick for Katsuya. Shane's first win of the season!

Congratulations to Shane FC for winning he Robert Walters Team of the Week!
