The build up to the 4th weekend of TML action was dominated by the threat of a typhoon. As the Typhoon was slowly moving it's way up Japan, Komoba Sub Ground saw some lightning quick play from Pumas FC.
Swiss Kickers had defeated Pumas in both league matches last season and were looking to do the same again. Pumas were determined not to give Swiss 3 league victories in a row. Pumas have reecruited a few new players over the Summer by using the power of social media. This perfomance was enough to make any post match posts go viral. Pumas 9 Swiss Kickers 0.
After 8 weeks of no TML football it was back with a bang. 22 goals scored in 4 matches. The stand out result saw El Diego score 6 past Lions FC. Lions dominated possession but El Diego were clinical with their finishing. Yoshiyaki Koyasu was up front and his pace caused the Lions back line all sorts of problems. He scored a hat trick, veteran forward Satoru Kawahito scored a brace and El Diego new boy Ren Okuno scored too. With Wayne Baxter now bossing the defence El Diego will be looking for more consistency this season.
Going into match-day 41 of a very long season, there was still one more issue to be resolved. Who would join Imperio in being relegated from Division 1?
Zion went into their fixture on Saturday knowing that 3 points would confirm their promotion to Division 1.
The opposition Dutch FC have been on fine form since the turn of the New Year. So it would be no easy game for Zion. When the pressure is on, teams can either thrive on it or get nervous and struggle to express themselves. Zion on their big day were able to pass the ball around well but the Dutch keeper was having the game of his life.
