Our team of the week award goes to Bruno FC who defeated Nepal United despite a 10 point difference seperating the two teams
In the opening 10 minutes, a questionable penalty was called by none other than TML's best ref, Toma Ochiai. Nepal United's Aoi Kakegawa, one of the Division 3 top goal scorers, scores a perfectly placed penalty into the top left that even had the opposing team muttering "good strike".
An exciting TML weekend once again. Nepal United scored on their first possesion with ten men against King George. Both of Shane FC's goals came from the leagues biggest divers. And FC Sagarmatha won their bottom of the league derby against Fussa FC.
It's no wonder the weather is starting to get warmer. This weeks Robert Walters Team of the Week goes to Suns FC. A thrilling match preformed by both Fussa and Suns, the match was a slug fest. Right from the whistle, Suns scored on their first possesion (50 seconds in) and were on pace to finish the game at a score of 3-1. Within 15 minutes of full time, Fussa score 2 quick goals tying the match. Just when we thought the goals have come to a halt, Suns snag two rapid goals in quick succession in the final minutes of the game.
This season has provided us with many suprises. A change in TML managers, TML's first international 2 day sevens tournament (samurai sevens), an unprecedented amount of teams asking me for reschedules and cancels, Sid Lloyd scoring a goal... the list goes on. This weekend provided us with another suprise, division 3 team Nepal United have made it to the FJ Plate Final after winning their semi finals against Guts SC.
There was no dispute over who the Robert Walters team of the week back at the Footy Japan Head Quarters. British Embassy FC rightfully earned their team of the week with a hard earned victory over Fussa. The odds were in the favor of Fussa even before kick off. British Embassy had a 10 man squad as opposed to the army (pun intended) that Fussa FC brought, a 14 man squad. BEFC scored an early goal from a penalty kick, an ideal start for a team with a missing player. However Fussa equalized immediately putting Fussa back in a favorable position.
